
Today, the Commission published its article 7 decision expressing doubts about FICORA's (the Finish NRA) proposal to deregulate wholesale broadband markets (bitstream in particular) in densely populated areas of Finland on the basis of the lack of robust evidence. This shows the Commission is not willing to allow that the deregulation of broadband that took place in the UK to spreads over the EU without clear national evidence of the markets being sufficiently competitive. FICORA has now two months to provide more convincing evidence to the Commission is it wants to avoid a Commission veto.
